Position: DatabaseSpecialist – PostgreSQL

Location- Bangalore (onsite)

Experience: 5+ years in PostgreSQL development

Contract type- 6 Month

 

Availability- immediate

 

Responsibilities:

 

l   Work as the lead database specialist for PostgreSQL working on new product features and customizations.

l   Be the single point of contact for any queries/issues on the database front, especially PostgreSQL.

l   Coordinate with the developers, managers, and leadership teams to build effective databases

l   Collaborate with product managers to make sure database code meets demand

l   Communicate with front-end developers to define plain yet dynamic APIs

l   Keep a check on data structures and quality of data with DBAs

l   Integrate and maintain database code in procedures, scripts, queries, and views

l   Work with and be an active member of the PostgreSQL community

l   Work alongside cloud infrastructure DevOps team to plan, administer, maintain and secure PostgreSQL databases.

l   Work closely with QA and product team to ensure build and deployments of database changes within sprints.

l   Participate annual DR tests. Periodically launch database backup and recovery tests and document results.

 

 

RequiredTechnicalandProfessionalExpertise:

 

·         A Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of PostgreSQL DBA

·         Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Postgres and other relational databases.

·         Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and development

·         Demonstrated experience in data modeling tools

·         Knowledge of MongoDB is a plus
