Qualification: Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree or certification in Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt) is highly desirable.

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Head to lead and manage the production operations of our leather bags export house. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the leather goods manufacturing process, with expertise in implementing Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

•                      Oversee the complete production process, from material sourcing to final product assembly, ensuring that leather bags are produced efficiently and meet quality standards.

•                      Plan, organize, and control all production activities to achieve targets for volume, cost, quality, and delivery.

•                      Supervise the production floor, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality guidelines, and safety regulations.

 

Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Implementation:

•                      Implement Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to improve production efficiency, minimize waste, and enhance quality control.

•                      Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including reducing cycle times, enhancing resource utilization, and optimizing workflows.

•                      Conduct data-driven analysis of production processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement using Six Sigma tools like DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and root cause analysis.

 

Team Leadership & Development:

•                      Manage and mentor a team of supervisors, operators, and other production staff, ensuring effective communication, training, and performance management.

•                      Develop skill enhancement programs for production staff and ensure adherence to company standards for quality, safety, and productivity.

•                      Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production department.

 

Quality Control & Compliance:

•                      Ensure all products meet the required quality standards and customer specifications.

•                      Establish and enforce quality control procedures throughout the production process to minimize defects and waste.

•                      Conduct regular audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with international quality standards and export regulations.

 

Supply Chain & Inventory Management:

•                      Collaborate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials required for production.

•                      Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and semi-finished products to optimize production flow and avoid stockouts or overstocking.

•                      Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of leather, hardware, and other components necessary for production.

 

Cost Management & Budgeting:

•                      Develop and manage production budgets, controlling costs and improving cost efficiency.

•                      Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.

•                      Provide cost estimates for new projects and evaluate potential areas for cost reduction in existing processes.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

•                      Expertise in Six Sigma tools and methodologies (DMAIC, root cause analysis, etc.) to drive process improvements.

•                      Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping).

•                      Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

•                      Knowledge of international quality standards and export requirements for leather goods.

•                      Proficiency in using ERP systems for production planning and monitoring.
